The Academy of Dance at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim is one of the most traditional institutions for dancers in Germany. Its roots go back to the glorious era of ballet in Mannheim in the 18th century. We see our role as a teaching team in working with the students in a spirit of trust, taking their needs seriously, guaranteeing an all-round exciting training based on the latest developments in aesthetics, dance medicine and the possibilities of injury prevention, working in harmony with the sensitivity and abilities of the students and cultivating trust and mutual respect.
