Delete your account
How to delete your account, what we delete, and what we keep and for how long.
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, without asking anyone. Deletion is permanent: there is no undo and no grace period.
In the Ballee app
- Tap your profile picture to open the menu.
- Open Settings.
- Tap “I want to delete my account”.
- Tap “Send me a code”. We email you a six-digit code.
- Enter the code and tap “Yes, delete”.
On the website
- Sign in and open Settings from the menu under your avatar.
- In Danger Zone, select “Delete your Account”.
- Confirm. We email you a six-digit code.
- Enter the code to confirm.
By email
If you cannot sign in, email support@ballee.co from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to confirm the request, and we reply within one month.
What is deleted
- Your contact details, date of birth, address and identity documents.
- Your photos, videos and documents.
- Your bank and tax details.
- Your notification settings, bookmarks and activity history.
What is kept, and for how long
We keep only your first and last name, together with the records below.
- Invoices, contracts and payment records are kept for at least 10 years, because Swiss accounting law requires it (Code of Obligations, art. 958f).
- If you never had an invoice, contract or payment, your name is kept for at least 3 years, the period in which a legal claim can be brought (Code of Obligations, art. 60).
- Offers organisations made to you and applications you sent them stay on their side of the record, showing your name and that the account was deleted.
- Messages you sent stay in the other person's conversation.
After that period, your name is removed from your profile automatically.
If deletion is blocked
If your account still owns an organisation, a shop or a team account, it cannot be deleted yet, because other people depend on it. Hand it over to someone else first, then delete your account.
