History

Dance education linked to the Royal Swedish Ballet dates back to the 18th century. The school traces its heritage to the establishment of the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1773 by King Gustav III. Today it is operated by the City of Stockholm and is Sweden's premier professional ballet school.

Requirements

Admission by audition/aptitude test Primary level applicants are assessed for dance potential (no formal dance qualifications required). Upper Secondary applicants must demonstrate previous dance training and pass an entrance audition. International students may be required to demonstrate English proficiency depending on the programme.
