Steps on Broadway is one of the world's most renowned dance training centers and professional studios. Founded in 1979, it is considered the epicenter of New York City's professional dance community, welcoming dancers of all ages and levels—from beginners to Broadway performers and members of companies such as New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Martha Graham Dance Company. It also houses the Steps on Broadway Academy, offering structured pre-professional training for young dancers.

History
Founded in 1979 by Carol Paumgarten and Patrice Soriero. Originally opened in a single studio on West 56th Street. Moved to its current Broadway location in 1984. Launched The School at Steps (now the Steps Academy) in 2002. Today it is internationally recognized as one of the premier professional dance training centers in the world.

Requirements
Open classes: No audition required; available for all ages and levels. Steps Academy (Ages 2–18): Placement by age and/or evaluation. Pre-Professional Division: Audition required. Independent Artist Program (IAP): Open to dancers 18+; international students may apply and can enroll in 3-, 6-, or 12-month programs.
